Celebrating Sacraments

Christ instituted the sacraments of the new law. There are seven: Baptism, Confirmation (or Chrismation), Penance (or Reconciliation), the Eucharist, Holy Orders, Matrimony, and the Anointing of the Sick. The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing, and mission to the Christian’s life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.

Here at St. Patrick’s, because of our size, we are blessed to be able to provide personalized sacramental preparation. Whether you are new parents or an adult seeking initiation into the Catholic faith, we have members who will accompany you along the way. Click here for more information on Baptism.

If you have recently become engaged, please check out the information on marriage.

And the sacraments of healing: Reconciliation (confession) is available before Saturday evening Mass from 4:30-5:15pm, or by appointment–please contact one of the priests. Additional times for confession are posted on the website and on the calendar.

Anointing of the sick is available from the priests as well.  If you are going into the hospital, please contact us.  Due to privacy concerns hospitals no longer give out information as they did in the past.  If it is an emergency (someone is dying or has died), please call the emergency phone at 804-402-1221.
